Labour Watch.TV is a video portal, attempts to report and highlight major developments regarding labour rights in Pakistan. Together with Labour Watch Pakistan, it is designed as a repository of labour related news and resources. Videos are regularly updated and is a good knowledge-base on labour matters for all stakeholders interested in the issue. The Portal aims to assist government institutions, donors, trade unions and other civil society organizations in monitoring the adoption and compliance of Pakistan labour laws, international labour standards and treaties, including the ILO core conventions. It is also intended to help bring understanding and increased awareness of the plight and progress of workers and their unions and the policies and events that affect their lives and livelihood. It is hoped that this news-portal will help encourage discussion, dialogue, advocacy and action to strengthen the rights and improve the conditions of working men and women in Pakistan.
The LWP values and acknowledges the vital role of Pakistani electronic media in highlighting the problems of workers and dedicates this initiative to all the journalists who devote their time and energies in an effort to bring some respite to the repressed and downtrodden fellow workers of their country.
